As AI increasingly becomes more prevalent in our lives, a new derogatory term, "," has become increasingly popular to jokingly describe robots and artificial intelligence systems. Originating from Star Wars and referencing the sound many machines make when they move, the term's popularity stems from stigma towards AI and its parallels to the N-word.

Strangely, a number of social media apps, including YouTube, X, Instagram, and Reddit, have started labeling posts and videos with this word in it as "hate speech" directed against robots. "Hateful words against our robot friends will not be tolerated," the recently updated YouTube content guidelines page explained.

If anyone is complaining about these new rules, no word of it has traveled far, as all media coverage of the new content policies has been overwhelmingly positive.
